Regular processing methods

Ultra-thin 7075 aluminum plate can be obtained by cold rolling, which is a rolling production method below the recrystallization temperature. Due to the low rolling temperature, there will be no dynamic recrystallization during the rolling process, and the product temperature can only rise to the recovery temperature during the cold rolling process, so the work hardening rate is large.

A more popular method for 7075 aluminum plate is hot rolling, which can significantly reduce energy consumption and reduce costs. During hot rolling, the metal has high plasticity and low deformation resistance, which greatly reduces the energy consumption of metal deformation. The thickness of hot-rolled products is difficult to control, and the control accuracy is relatively poor. The surface of hot-rolled products is rougher than that of cold-rolled products, and the Ra value is generally 0.5 to 1.5 m. Therefore, hot rolled products are generally used as billets for cold rolling.

Further process-cladding

Part of the specifications of 7075 aluminum sheet is clad aluminum sheet, which increases its toughness and corrosion resistance on the basis of maintaining the characteristics of 7075 aluminum plate. The clad aluminum rolling is done on the hot roughing mill. The first is to weld the aluminum-clad plate and the rolled slab, that is, welding and rolling. The process flow is: after the aluminum-clad ingot is discharged from the heating furnace, the steel strip is removed, and the steel strip is passed into the hot rough rolling mill through the transport roller table; To prevent the wrong movement of the clad aluminum plate, the “static pressure” rolling method is used to weld the clad aluminum plate. In order to ensure the safety of the equipment, low-speed compression must be used when under static pressure.

Further process-bending

7075 aluminum plate has the highest hardness and strength among commonly used aluminum alloy plates. It is not easy to bend directly and is prone to cracks, especially when the bending angle is greater than 90 degrees or the bending R angle is small. Therefore, the bending of 7075 aluminum sheet is not recommended. If it is necessary to bend or directly stamp out a certain angle, the 7075 aluminum plate needs to be annealed to reduce its hardness, then bend or stamped, and then quenched and aging to restore its hardness, and finally be shaped and processed.

Further process-drilling

Small grains of 7075 aluminium sheet make deep drilling performance better, tool wear resistance enhanced, thread rolling more distinctive.

Further process-grinding

The grinding process is to achieve higher dimensional accuracy and higher finish. Generally speaking, it is not recommended to use a grinding wheel to grind. If you need a certain degree of finish, you can ask the manufacturer to use a milling machine to process the surface of 7075 aluminum plate in advance when placing an order.
